I’ve had the great luck to be asked many times now to create card titles and write flavor text (the italic “story” copy at the bottom of some cards) for Magic: The Gathering. As part of these projects, the writing team is given a story bible for the set. We brainstorm titles and flavor text intended to draw players deeper into the lore, give hints of the wider world, and move the story forward.
At this point, my work has appeared on hundreds of cards across seven sets. The collection below includes some of my favorites. On most of these I only contributed either title or flavor text. I will add credit to the other writers as I am able to identify them.
