Hasbro Pulse is a unique initiative. As a general rule, Hasbro avoids direct dialogue with consumers outside of personal interactions at conventions, and through the Consumer Care team. As a traditional consumer goods enterprise, it was built into Hasbro’s DNA to think of direct interaction with consumers as inherently risky. Hasbro Pulse was built to break through the wall that traditionally existed between toy creators and toy fans, and allow our customers to interact directly with us, up to and including guiding the design direction of some toys. I wrote these guidelines to serve a twofold purpose: First, to make sure everyone working on Hasbro Pulse had a clear understanding of the audience and tone of voice; and second to operate as an always-ready pitch deck to remind Hasbro's senior leadership why this new kind of relationship with customers was important. We succeeded at both, as you can see by going to hasbropulse.com to sign up!
