Collectors love the stories behind their favorite characters. When writing copy for a collector's product, it's not enough to regurgitate a hero's origin story, or restate the blurb from a classic piece of packaging. I try to immerse myself in a character (it helps that I'm already a comics and sci-fi nerd), so that I can write copy that captures something new about the essential nature of each character. These technicolor heroes inhabit expansive universes that draw fans in; every expression, even packaging, should add to those universes and deepen the fan experience.
